How Will You Make an Impact?
Making the world a better place starts in your own community. Through local partnerships, service projects and trips that may take you down the street or across the country, you’ll have many chances to make a difference and be a part of something larger than yourself.
社区服务
Facilitate after-school activities for local children, sign up for a shift at a nearby organic farm, or help address food insecurity through 校园里的厨房. From an afternoon to a weekly commitment, we have volunteering opportunities that will fit your schedule and interests.
志愿者的日子
Laurentians care about their community, so much so that more than 300 students participate in our annual volunteer days like Make a Difference Day, Random Act of Kindness Day, and Laurentians Serve.
Community-Based Learning (CBL)
From first-year seminars to courses across all disciplines, you’ll have the chance to learn in a setting that combines civic engagement with academic instruction, 批判性思维, and reflection in a reciprocal relationship that benefits our campus and community partners alike.
Internship Opportunities
Whether you are hoping to intern with the Office of 义工服务 or a non-profit supporting the greater North Country area through the St. 劳伦斯 Public Interest Corps (SLU PIC), you’ll have plenty of opportunities to gain invaluable professional experience, make a positive impact, and join the next generation of leaders and innovators in the public interest space.
Laurentians in the Community
Service is a cornerstone of the Laurentian experience. Our students volunteer in the local community in numbers greater than any other activity on campus.
